WordPress Emails Now Delivered by SendGrid
A lot of our clients have important emails coming from their WordPress installations. The most common are those off contact forms – a business can’t handle missing any of these messages.
The Email Problem
Despite their importance, many emails from WordPress sites end up in spamboxes, or outright blocked by email providers. There are a bunch of things you can do to ensure more reliable delivery, but we can’t do it for you – and making clients figure it out is completely against our ethos of making your site just work. To help solve this problem, Lightning Base is partnering with SendGrid to deliver emails sent by client sites.
Our Solution
SendGrid is a service that just delivers email. Anything sent from your site will be automatically routed through their servers, no changes required. SendGrid has a ton of experience delivering mail, and I expect emails from your sites will more reliably land in your non-spam inbox.
This is a paid service and represents an expense on our end, but the cost is resonable and the improved experience for our customers should be well worth it.
The SendGrid Notice
Some email clients will display the fact that SendGrid was used to deliver your messages. It looks like this:
It is possible to get rid of this, but not when we’re sending emails from many different domains. If this is a problem for you, please contact us, and we can help you figure out another solution for sending email from your site.
There’s More On The Way
I hope the addition of SendGrid makes our service even more useful for all our clients. We have some other additions on the way at Lightning Base – watch this blog as I expect at least one more announcement this week.
